Cali Redwoods Part One

We left on Friday at 4 pm from our abode in Porkloin OR. We drove to Redding, where our hosts were waiting for us at around 11:30 pm.

With the weather in Redding predicted to be 115 and above, we ate breakfast and went directly to Whiskeytown Lake on Saturday. Jeff and Addy read the newspaper.

We messed around. Ate, played in inflatable objects, A played in sand.

Grandad had a boat so after we had our fill of the little lake beach there, he pulled us around on the tube. For me, it was agony, as you can see here, in pure misery emerging from water.

We spent all day at the lake. When we came home at 8 pm it was a cool 109 degrees. The next day we ate breakfast and hopped in the car and headed out to the coast, where it was cool. It took us some 6 hours to get to Crescent City, but there were stops on the way. A eagerly anticipated our arrival, as you can see here.

Beautiful pics, my dear! And very good job at summarizing a remarkably memorable vacation. I enjoyed being with my wonderful family in a wonderful place - wish we had 5 more days.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone look more miserable about being in the water as you are in that picture. haha What fun! Your family is beautiful.
